Why Should Candidates Want You?

by Barbara Ling

I ask this in all seriousness.

Today's market is a candidate's market. Candidates can pick and choose from the thousands of jobs, recruiters and corporations!

What do you have to offer that's so great?

Jobs? Everyone and their coffeecup offers jobs.

Think outside of the box. The successful job provider will concetrate upon the candidate as a whole, and not a placement.

Do you offer excellent career advice? Can you discuss with authority relevant industry trends? Can you provide key ideas for successful interviewing? Can you describe in detail the road towards certification (which would in turn enable the candidate to earn more money?)

Do you have happy customer testimonials?

If a candidate is relocating, can you point out the direction of salary and cost-of-living calculators such as Homefair?

In other words, why do you do that makes candidates want to use your services?

When you start to showcase yourself as a career solutions provider instead of merely a job provider, you're now protraying yourself as someone who cares about the candidate's success.

And these are the kinds of people candidates prefer working with.

The best news is that the Internet makes it quite easy to accomplish the above. back to the top
